Beachbody Company is well known for its involvement in developing efficient workout programs. They have developed the following programs: Insanity Asylum, P90X2, P90X, Insanity and T25. Their program are effective and they are winning a lot of people over. This has seen the company releasing their new program, P90X3. It is one of the best and greatest workout program.
This program cannot be called new entirely. If you closely observe it, you will find out that it is more of a combination of P90X2 and the P90X programs. They have only modified it and placed it in a new level that has more scientific power and knowledge driven exercises.
The Program is based on the following principals:
- Power training
- Resistance training
- Balance training and core flex training
- Cardiovascular training
P90X3 is the latest work of Tony Horton. It specially designed to shred your body to acquire the best shape in only 90 days. The program eliminates the lack of time as an excuse not to take up the program. The workout lengths are only 30 minute long. It is one of the biggest different between it and its predecessors. This is a great program that you can integrate into your half marathon training that will not destroy your legs but at the same time will help strengthen all your small connector muscles and really work on your core muscles. I do skip the cardio workouts and substitute those for my regular runs.
The program ensures that you will have enough time to deal with your very busy family and work schedule. However busy your day is, you can squeeze a 30 minutes period every day. The time is short enough that you can complete if before breakfast or during your lunch break. One of the best p90x3 workout reviews I have seen today was written by Eric Ellis here at fitnessrocks.org that I would highly recommend reading his personal experience in doing the workout.
You will need minimal equipment to carry out the P90X3. It is designed this way to make them easy enough to be done almost anywhere ñ work or at home. The equipment you need include: dumbbells of different weights, a pull up bar, a yoga mat, stability ball and a pair of trainer shoes. Tony advices you not to purchase running shoes because they are bulky.
The workouts in the program are 30 minute long with 2-5 minutes to cool down. There is an exception, the Ab Ripper X3 ñ 15 minutes long. Besides the block schedules, you have the option to adopt a workout schedule that will fit in your lifestyle ñ lean, classic, mass and doubles.
There is also an online support forum that you can ask all the questions you may be having about the program. There is also an app that you can download from their site if you are an iPhone or android user.
Overall this is a great program that you can use in your off season to get your legs in shape for running or you can even use it during your in season running plan without ruining your workouts.
